Neither security fears following 9/11 nor financial fears during the recession reduced My Alarm Center’s client base. Actually, sales increased; and clients did everything possible to maintain their coverage.

Four years ago, Kevin Robins was brought in as CEO to ramp up the growth trajectory of the then somewhat sleepy MidAtlantic Employers’ Association (MEA). And ramp it up he has.

Now consistently achieving a 12-16% annual revenue growth, last year MEA saw 95 new members join with a 91% retention rate, rather than the usual 40-50 new members. Robins’ goal is to add 120 new members yearly, maintaining 91% retention. (more…)

Nikki Johnson-Huston founded her own law office, PhillyTaxDiva.com, in 2013 after spending six years as an Assistant City Solicitor in the Major Tax Unit for the City of Philadelphia.   A 2004 graduate of Temple’s Beasley School of Law, she earned a J.D., M.B.A and LL.M in Taxation in four years. Nikki is known nationally for her advocacy work related to generational poverty, homelessness and education. She has been awarded numerous honors including a 2012 USA Eisenhower Fellow, the National Bar Association’s One of Nation’s Best Advocates, and 2014 Game Changer by CBS3/CW Philly/KYW News Radio.

Leadership Insights: On Call to Millions!

When last winter’s ice storms and Hurricane Sandy hit, Craig Adams was figuratively–and often literally–on the hook for receiving outage complaints from some of the more than 1.6 million electric customers PECO serves in southeastern Pennsylvania.

As President and CEO of PECO, Adams takes customer issues very seriously, working 19 hour days during those outages. However, he quickly points out that his days didn’t compare to those of employees working in subfreezing temperatures with high winds who put their lives on the line while restoring power. His admiration for these employees was highlighted by the mechanic who went home at the end of his 16-hour shift to bring back his own generator to a customer (more…)
